Job summary

Coates Hire in Welshpool is seeking a hands-on Branch Manager to lead a high-performing team, strengthen customer relationships and drive outstanding operational performance.

This role offers autonomy to shape the branch, manage budgets and P&L, ensure safety standards, and partner with regional teams to deliver consistent service.

Qualifications

• Leadership experience in operational environments such as equipment hire, industrial services or logistics.
• Proven ability to engage, coach and develop people to achieve strong results.
• Budgeting and KPIs, with P&L or branch performance experience.
• Customer-first mindset and ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong problem-solving and decisive decision-making under pressure.
• Clear communication and strong computer literacy.

Responsibilities

• Build strong relationships with existing customers and identify opportunities to grow the business.

• Manage budgets, P&L performance and key branch metrics, using data to make sound commercial decisions.
• Ensure compliance with Coates’ Zero Harm standards, policies and operational procedures.
• Partner with regional and support teams to deliver consistent service and continuous improvement.

The Welshpool branch is looking for an energetic and commercially minded Branch Manager to lead our team, strengthen customer relationships and drive outstanding operational performance.

This is a hands-on leadership opportunity for someone who enjoys variety, takes ownership and knows how to turn a good branch into a great one. What you’ll bring

• Commercial confidence, including experience with budgets, KPIs, P&L or branch performance.
• A customer-first approach and the ability to build trusted relationships.
• Strong problem-solving skills, sound judgement and the confidence to make decisions in a fast-paced environment.
• Clear communication skills and strong computer literacy, including Microsoft Office and CRM or customer management systems.
• A genuine commitment to safety, teamwork and doing what’s right for customers and colleagues.
