Job summary

Mercy Health in North Richmond is hiring a Billing Officer to manage accurate patient billing across multiple sites and systems. Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience in a Billing Officer role within the hospital sector.
• Experience with iPM billing.
• High attention to detail and commitment to accurate working.
• Well-developed interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong customer service focus and a culture of excellence and quality.
• Value self-improvement and continual learning.
• Proficiency across the Microsoft suite of products to include Excel.

Responsibilities

• Process patient billing across multiple systems and sites.
• Bill health fund claims in accordance with Medicare, private health insurance, and regulatory requirements.
• Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements while supporting revenue integrity.
• Provide guidance, support and education to other team members.

Hours: 38 hrs per week, 7.6 hrs per day, Mon-Fri

About the opportunity

TheGroup Billing and Receivables functionis a centralised Support Servicethat undertakesbilling andreceivableactivities across Mercy Health.

Led by the Group Billing and Receivables Manager, Health Services, the functioncomprisesmultiple teams that support the Health Service and Health Ageing business streams.

The Billing Officer is responsible fortheaccurateandtimelyprocessing of patient billingacross multiple systems and multiple sites, health fundclaims,inaccordance withAustralian healthcare funding models. This role ensures compliance with Medicare, private health insurance, and regulatory requirements while supporting revenue integrity and delivering high-quality service to patients and stakeholders.

The role will also develop an understanding and oversight of all billing functions performed by theGroupBillings and Receivables Team whilst providingguidance,supportand educationto otherteam members. As a centralised role, engagement will be via a common law contract rather than a Victorian Health EBA.

• Experience with iPM billing.
