Job summary

BDO Australia is seeking a Manager – Methodology within the Audit Professional Practice Department to lead the development and enhancement of the firm’s audit methodology, policies and guidance.

You will work closely with engagement teams and AAQ to ensure consistent application of methodologies across audits, while contributing to learning and capability development initiatives. The role focuses on methodology with opportunities to engage across other audit quality areas.

Qualifications

• Strong technical judgement and project management required.
• Experience with audit quality initiatives and resources design.
• Ability to build stakeholder relationships and influence decisions.
• Knowledge of International Standards on Auditing.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, maintenance and implementation of quality frameworks, methodologies, policies, guidance and tools supporting audit engagements.
• Execute and contribute to methodology projects and initiatives, taking ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables.
• Monitor changes to professional standards, regulatory requirements and industry practices and assess their implications for audit methodologies.
• Aid in developing practical templates, guidance materials and resources that promote consistency, scalability and compliance across audit engagements.
• Assist in technical consultations on audit methodology matters and provide guidance on complex engagement issues.
• Engage with service lines and Learning & Development teams to identify audit capability gaps and quality risks.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the firm's audit capabilities and reputation.
