Job summary

BDO Australia seeks a Manager – Methodology to lead the development and ongoing enhancement of audit methodology, policies and tools within the Audit & Assurance Quality function. The role partners with AAQ, engagement teams and service lines to ensure consistent and high-quality audits across client engagements.

Qualifications

• Experience in audit quality initiatives and activities, including design and production of resources, and the design and facilitation of learning sessions.
• Strong knowledge of International Standards on Auditing and Assurance.
• Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage and influence stakeholders.
• Ability to manage multiple initiatives while maintaining focus on audit quality and user experience.

Responsibilities

• Support the development, maintenance and implementation of quality frameworks, methodologies, policies, guidance and tools supporting audit engagements.
• Execute and contribute to methodology projects and initiatives, taking ownership of assigned workstreams and deliverables.
• Monitor changes to professional standards, regulatory requirements and industry practices and assess their implications for audit methodologies.
• Aid in developing practical templates, guidance materials and resources that promote consistency, scalability and compliance across audit engagements.
• Assist in technical consultations on audit methodology matters and provide guidance on complex engagement issues.
• Engage with service lines and Learning & Development teams to identify audit capability gaps and quality risks.
• Contribute to strategic initiatives aimed at enhancing the firm's audit capabilities and reputation.
