Job summary

The Reef House Adults Retreat in Palm Cove, QLD seeks an enthusiastic Assistant Restaurant Manager to elevate guest engagement and service in our boutique hotel restaurant. Join a team focused on attentive, personalised experiences and a la carte dining excellence.

Responsibilities include supporting the Restaurant Manager and Chef, planning menus with the team, managing stock and KPI reporting, and leading waiting and kitchen staff.

Qualifications

• 2–3 years experience in a similar hospitality role.
• A la carte dining etiquette experience.
• Advanced wine knowledge and cocktail skills are beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Ensure each service period is run to perfection.
• Assist Restaurant Manager, Executive Chef and General Manager with restaurant management.
• Work with Chef on special events and projects.
• Accurately report on daily shift and restaurant KPIs.
• Plan menus in consultation with Chefs.
• Plan and organise special functions.
• Arrange purchasing and pricing of goods according to budget.
• Maintain stock records and financial transactions.
• Ensure dining facilities comply with health regulations and are clean and functional.
• Consult with customers to assess satisfaction with meals and service.
• Select, train and supervise waiting and kitchen staff.
• May take reservations, greet guests and assist in taking orders.
• Act as the Restaurant Manager in their absence.
