Role Description

The Assistant Night Manager is a full-time, on-site role based at PARKROYAL Darling Harbour in Sydney, NSW. This position supports the Night Manager in overseeing overnight hotel operations, ensuring a smooth guest experience and maintaining high service standards. Day-to-day responsibilities include supervising night shift team members, managing front office and guest services, handling late check-ins and early departures, and resolving guest queries or issues promptly and professionally. The role also involves monitoring safety and security procedures, overseeing cash handling and night audit processes, and coordinating with other departments to ensure rooms, public areas, and facilities are prepared for the following day. The Assistant Night Manager is expected to lead by example, uphold brand standards, and contribute to a positive and inclusive work environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in hotel front office or night operations, with the ability to manage check-in/check-out, reservations, and guest services effectively.
• Strong leadership and people management skills, including supervising teams, delegating tasks, and supporting staff performance and development.
• Excellent customer service and communication skills, with the ability to handle guest feedback, resolve conflicts, and build positive guest relationships.
• Sound understanding of hotel safety, security, and emergency procedures, and the ability to respond calmly and efficiently to incidents.
• Proficiency in hotel property management systems and basic computer skills, including MS Office and email communication.
• Solid numerical and organizational skills, with experience in cash handling, night audit, and reporting considered an advantage.
• Ability to work overnight shifts, including weekends and public holidays, and maintain reliability and professionalism during night hours.
• Previous experience in a similar role and a background in hospitality or hotel management; relevant qualifications or certifications are highly regarded.
