Job summary

Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre in Broadbeach, QLD, invites you to start a three-year culinary apprenticeship in early 2027. No prior experience needed, just a passion for food and a hunger to learn from top chefs while you gain hands-on experience across award-winning event catering.

You will work across large-scale banquets, galas, conferences, and bespoke dining, with access to masterclasses, industry field trips, and competitions to accelerate your professional development.

Ready to start your culinary career at one of Australia’s premier event venues?

We are offering a three-year apprenticeship for someone at the very beginning of their culinary journey, with the apprenticeship commencing in early 2027. No previous career experience is expected, just a genuine passion for food and a desire to learn from some of the best in the business.

THE ROLE

Over the course of your three-year apprenticeship, you’ll gain hands‑on experience across a diverse range of award‑winning event catering, delivering high‑quality food across a variety of cuisines. This includes large‑scale banquets and gala dinners, cocktail functions, conferences and bespoke dining experiences. Working alongside passionate and experienced chefs, you’ll develop your skills in hot and cold production and large‑scale kitchen operations, while building a strong foundation for a successful career in the industry.

At the Gold Coast Convention and Exhibition Centre, learning extends beyond the kitchen. Our apprentices have access to masterclasses, industry field trips, and culinary competitions, providing valuable opportunities to broaden their knowledge, showcase their talent, and accelerate their professional development.
