Job summary

The Valley Estate Holdings – Currumbin Waters QLD is seeking a First Year Apprentice Chef to join the kitchen team and begin a culinary career at one of the Gold Coast's premier wedding and events venues.

You'll be part of the kitchen team and develop hands-on skills from day one, working in a premium wedding and events environment with exposure to different menus, large-scale events, beautiful food presentation and professional service.

Qualifications

• Must be motivated to pursue a chef career.
• Apprenticeship role with no prior professional experience required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook food in a professional kitchen
• Work alongside experienced chefs during wedding and event services
• Develop knife skills and fundamental cooking techniques
• Prepare ingredients and complete mise en place
• Plate and present dishes to a high standard
• Work with quality produce and a variety of menus
• Understand kitchen organisation and service
• Follow food safety and hygiene standards
• Work efficiently as part of a busy kitchen team
