Job summary

State Street seeks a strategic Head of APAC Shareholder Services (SHS), VP, to lead a geographically diverse team across APAC while aligning with global operating models. You will drive operational excellence, risk management, and client service outcomes with close collaboration to North America and EMEA SHS teams.

You will oversee governance, automation initiatives, and strategic transformations across APAC SHS, ensuring SLAs, regulatory compliance, and robust onboarding of new business

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
• 10+ years in investment management operations, transfer agency, shareholder services, client trading, fund operations, or related fields.
• Proven people leadership experience managing regional or multi-location teams.
• Strong understanding of mutual funds, ETFs, shareholder servicing, client trading, and fund operations.
• Strong understanding of technology-enabled operating models and operational transformation.
• Ability to leverage data and analytics to drive improvements and business decisions.
• Experience with AI, ML, Generative AI, Intelligent Automation, or RPA initiatives.
• Experience managing operational risk, controls, and regulatory requirements.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills.
• Experience leading operational transformation and automation initiatives.

Responsibilities

• Lead, develop, and inspire a diverse APAC operations team.
• Foster a culture of operational excellence, accountability, collaboration, and continuous improvement.
• Establish performance objectives and conduct regular reviews.
• Develop succession plans and ensure cross-training and resilience.
• Support employee engagement, talent development, and career growth initiatives.
• Oversee APAC SHS and Client Trading activities for accuracy and timeliness.
• Ensure SLAs meet regulatory requirements and client expectations.
• Act as senior escalation point for operational issues and service incidents.
• Monitor capacity, workload, and resource planning across APAC.
• Promote risk management culture and embed risk excellence principles.
• Drive reduction of errors and control deficiencies through continuous improvement.
• Document and review operating procedures; oversee resilience and BCP for APAC SHS.
• Ensure adherence to regulatory obligations and global risk standards.
• Lead strategic transformation initiatives to improve efficiency and controls.
• Drive automation and digitization with Technology and SHS teams.
• Establish and monitor KPIs and management reporting.
• Represent APAC SHS in global governance forums and leadership discussions.
• Partner with North America and EMEA SHS leadership for alignment.
