Job summary

Wellways Australia Limited is seeking a Peer Wellbeing Navigator with lived experience to provide compassionate, strengths-based support to people in our community across Greater Shepparton, Strathbogie and Moira. You will use your experiences to connect with participants, build trust and guide them toward available services and connections.

The role emphasizes empathy, safety, and empowerment, with a focus on recovery and collaboration within a multidisciplinary team.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of substance use or addiction and recovery.
• Section 28 Equal Opportunity Act 2010 designation.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health, AOD, Mental Health Peer Work or Community Services (completed or in progress).
• 100 points of identification.
• Evidence of right to work in Australia.
• Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake.
• NDIS Workers Orientation module certificate – free online course.

Responsibilities

• Provide intentional, strengths-based peer support, including AOD peer support
• Offer one-on-one support and care planning
• Facilitate group peer sessions to build connection and confidence
• Supporting people to recognise and build on their own strengths, knowledge and capacity
• Supporting engagement and self-advocacy with clinical services
• Building strong relationships with local AOD and other community support services
