Job summary

Wellways, in partnership with APMHA Healthcare and GV Health, is seeking an AOD Wellbeing Navigator Peer to support communities across Greater Shepparton, Strathbogie and Moira. You’ll draw on your lived experience to build respectful relationships and connect people with the services they need.

This part-time role focuses on one-on-one support, care planning, group sessions, and collaboration with local AOD and community services.

Qualifications

• Personal lived experience of substance use or addiction and recovery; ability to support others with empathy.
• Certificate IV in Mental Health, AOD, Mental Health Peer Work or Community Services (completed or in progress) or equivalent knowledge/work experience.
• 100 points of identification.
• Evidence of right to work in Australia.
• Satisfactory National Police Check, Working with Children Check, and NDIS Worker Screening Check, or willingness to undertake.
• NDIS Worker Orientation module certificate – free online course.

Responsibilities

• Provide intentional, strengths-based peer support, including AOD peer support.
• Offer one-on-one support and care planning.
• Facilitate group peer sessions to build connection and confidence.
• Support people to recognise and build on their strengths, knowledge and capacity.
• Support engagement and self-advocacy with clinical services.
• Build strong relationships with local AOD and other community support services.
