Job summary

Monks is hiring an Analytics Engineer in Melbourne (hybrid) to turn raw GA4, media, and CRM data into modelled, trusted datasets in BigQuery. You will also explore AI-enabled data solutions and support client storytelling with data.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills including window functions, CTEs and nested queries.
• Hands-on BigQuery experience with partitioning, clustering, and cost control.
• Experience with GA4 event model and BigQuery export schemas.
• Built/scheduled pipelines on Google Cloud (Composer, Dataform, dbt, Cloud Run or similar).
• Proficiency in Python for data work and automation.
• Version control with Git and good documentation habits.
• Ability to explain data to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in applying AI to analytics-backed by hands-on work.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines that bring GA4, ad platform data and CRM data into BigQuery.
• Model raw event data into clean, documented tables using SQL and dbt or Dataform.
• Orchestrate jobs with Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
• Set up data quality tests and monitoring to catch issues before dashboards.
• Work with GA4 BigQuery export schemas and rebuild attribution where needed.
• Collaborate with tagging specialists to ensure correct GTM/GA4 data.
• Translate measurement plans into tables and metrics to answer client questions.
• Develop semantic layer behind Looker Studio and Looker dashboards.
• Present findings to clients and internal stakeholders in plain language.
• Prepare and govern datasets for AI tools and PoC-level AI features.
