Job summary

Monks is hiring an Analytics Engineer to turn raw GA4, media and CRM data into modelled datasets in BigQuery for major brands. Hybrid, Sydney or Melbourne-based, you’ll join a Data team spanning measurement strategy, tagging, data engineering and applied AI.

You’ll work on end-to-end pipelines, data modelling, quality checks, and AI-enabled analytics tools while collaborating with client teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills including window functions, CTEs and nested queries.
• Proficient in BigQuery with partitioning, clustering and cost controls.
• Working knowledge of GA4 data and its export schemas.
• Experience building and scheduling pipelines on Google Cloud (Composer, Dataform, dbt, Cloud Run).
• Python for data tasks: API access, transformation scripts, and light automation.
• Version control with Git and good documentation habits.
• Ability to explain data to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interested in applying AI to analytics with practical experience.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines bringing GA4, ad platform data and CRM data into BigQuery.
• Model raw event data into clean, documented tables using SQL and dbt/Dataform.
• Orchestrate jobs with Cloud Composer (Airflow), Cloud Functions or Cloud Run.
• Set up data quality tests and monitoring to catch issues before dashboards.
• Work with GA4 BigQuery export schemas, unnest event parameters and rebuild attribution where needed.
• Collaborate with tagging specialists to ensure accurate data collection.
• Translate measurement plans into tables and metrics to answer client questions.
• Build the semantic layer behind Looker Studio and Looker dashboards.
• Present findings to clients and internal stakeholders in clear language.
• Explore AI use cases on client data, including PoC tools and anomaly detection.
