Job summary

Monks is seeking an Analytics Engineer to turn raw GA4, media and CRM data into modelled, trusted datasets in BigQuery for major brands in APAC. Hybrid role based in Sydney or Melbourne, full-time and mid-level with growth potential.

You will work on measurement strategy, tagging, data engineering, reporting and applied AI within a Google Cloud stack including GA4, BigQuery, Looker Studio, and Gemini-based tools.

Qualifications

• Strong SQL skills with advanced functions and complex queries.
• Hands-on BigQuery experience including partitioning and cost control.
• Experience with GA4 data and BigQuery export schemas.
• Built and scheduled pipelines on Google Cloud (Composer, Dataform, dbt, Cloud Run).
• Python for data work and automation; version control with Git.
• Ability to explain data findings to non-technical stakeholders.
• Interest in applying AI to analytics with practical experiments.

Responsibilities

• Build and maintain pipelines merging GA4, ad platform data, and CRM into BigQuery.
• Model raw event data into clean tables using SQL and dbt/Dataform.
• Orchestrate jobs with Cloud Composer, Cloud Functions, or Cloud Run.
• Set up data quality tests and monitoring for dashboards.
• Work with GA4 schemas, unnest events, and attribution where needed.
• Collaborate with tagging specialists to ensure accurate data.
• Translate measurement plans into tables and metrics.
• Analyze client questions with SQL and deliver insights.
• Develop semantic layer for Looker Studio/Looker dashboards.
• Present findings clearly to clients and internal teams.
• Prepare datasets for AI tools like Gemini and agent-based systems.
• Prototype AI-powered analytics tools and summaries.
