Job summary

McMahon Services is seeking a motivated WHSEQ Advisor to join our Adelaide team. You’ll work closely with Project Managers and operations to implement WHSEQ across projects, providing practical advice, mentoring and risk-based guidance.

You’ll conduct site observations, assist with risk assessments, SWMS/JSEA reviews, incidents, and audits, and travel regionally to support SA sites as required. A hands-on role focusing on Safety Certainty 2.0 and positive safety culture.

Qualifications

• Certificate IV in Work Health & Safety.
• Previous WHSEQ experience within construction or a similar operational environment.
• Good understanding of WHSEQ principles and practical risk management.
• Understanding of construction methodologies and site-based operations.
• Construction Industry White Card.
• Current Driver’s Licence.
• First Aid qualification.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to build positive relationships with operational teams and stakeholders.
• Good organisation and time management skills.
• Confidence working independently while remaining part of a broader team.
• Competent Microsoft Office skills.
• A positive, practical and solutions-focused approach.
• Flexibility to travel to regional South Australian project sites when required.

Responsibilities

• Support project teams with the implementation of our Safety Certainty 2.0 Program.
• Provide practical WHSEQ advice, guidance and mentoring to operational teams.
• Support the use of Serious Injury, Fatality and Environmental Risk (SIFER) tools.
• Conduct site observations, assessments and WHSEQ activities.
• Assist with the development and review of project risk assessments.
• Support the development and review of SWMS and JSEAs.
• Attend pre-starts and toolbox meetings and encourage workforce engagement.
• Monitor workforce induction and training compliance.
• Assist with subcontractor onboarding from a WHSEQ perspective.
• Conduct and support incident investigations and communicate lessons learned.
• Support project teams in preparing for internal and external audits.
• Assist with WHSEQ Management Plans and project-specific requirements.
• Build positive relationships with operational teams, clients and stakeholders.
• Visit regional project sites when required to provide practical WHSEQ support.
