Job summary

McMahon Services is seeking a WHS Advisor to support the safe delivery of projects across Greater Sydney. You will work closely with project teams, supervisors and subcontractors to promote safe work practices and ensure WHS systems are followed on civil, infrastructure, demolition and environmental projects.

You will coach teams, lead risk assessments and incidents investigations, and help drive continuous safety improvements.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a WHS, Safety Advisor or similar role.
• Experience supporting civil construction, infrastructure, engineering or related projects.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety is essential.
• Construction Industry White Card and First Aid qualification required.

About the Role

As the WHS Advisor, you'll partner with project teams to provide practical safety leadership, support the implementation of McMahon Services' Safety Certainty 2.0 framework and ensure compliance with WHS systems across site operations. You'll coach operational teams, build trusted relationships and help deliver safe, efficient and high-quality project outcomes.

Supporting projects across Greater Sydney, you'll work alongside experienced operational teams delivering a diverse range of civil, infrastructure, demolition and environmental services projects. Backed by our national WHS network, you'll have the opportunity to contribute across multiple projects while continuing to develop your career within the business.

What You’ll Do:

• Champion a proactive safety culture across project teams and subcontractors, supporting McMahon Services' commitment to Zero Harm.
• Provide practical WHS advice, coaching and support to employees, supervisors and project leadership teams.
• Conduct site inspections, audits, workplace observations and risk assessments to identify hazards and drive continuous improvement.
• Manage incident investigations, corrective actions and lessons learned initiatives to improve project safety performance.
• Support the implementation of Safety Certainty 2.0, project WHS management plans and company management systems.
• Collaborate with project delivery teams and the broader WHS function to ensure compliance with company, client and legislative requirements.
• Support project teams with toolbox meetings, pre-starts, subcontractor onboarding and workforce engagement.

What You'll Bring

• Minimum 3 years' experience in a WHS, Safety Advisor or similar role.
• Experience supporting civil construction, infrastructure, engineering or related projects.
• Certificate IV in Work Health and Safety.
• Construction Industry White Card, current Driver's Licence and First Aid qualification.
• Strong understanding of WHS principles, risk management and project delivery environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to build trusted relationships across all levels of a project team.
• Ability to work autonomously while collaborating effectively with operational and project teams.
• A proactive approach to safety and a genuine commitment to fostering a positive safety culture.
