Veritas Recruitment represents an established international freight forwarding business in the Inner-Northern Suburbs of Melbourne seeking an accounts receivable professional. The role is hands-on and varied, covering invoicing, collections, banking reconciliations and general administration within a busy, collaborative team.

You will issue invoices, manage overdue accounts by phone and email, process daily banking, allocate receipts and maintain debtor records.

Competenze

• Experience in accounts receivable and collections.
• Experience in banking reconciliations.
• Freight forwarding, logistics, or similar industry experience is advantageous.
• Proficient with Excel and MS Office.

The Role

Reporting directly to management, this is a hands-on and varied role encompassing accounts receivable, collections, banking reconciliations and general administration. Working within a busy international freight environment, the business is seeking a reliable and detail-oriented professional who is looking for long-term stability and thrives in a collaborative, close-knit team.

Responsibilities will include, but not be limited to:

• Raising and issuing invoices to clients accurately and in a timely manner
• Managing the collections process - following up on outstanding accounts via phone and email
• Processing daily banking transactions and completing bank reconciliations
• Allocating receipts and maintaining accurate debtor records
• Liaising with clients and internal stakeholders to resolve account queries and disputes
• Providing general administrative support to the operations and finance teams
• Data entry and maintenance of records within freight forwarding software systems
• Assisting with month-end reconciliations and reporting as required
• Coordinating documentation and correspondence related to freight shipments

The Person

• Demonstrated experience in accounts receivable, collections and/or banking reconciliations
• Experience within freight forwarding, logistics or a similar industry (advantageous)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• High attention to detail and strong organisational skills
• Confident and professional communicator - comfortable following up on overdue accounts
• Ability to work independently and manage competing priorities effectively
• A positive, reliable team player committed to the role long-term
• Exposure to freight forwarding or logistics software (advantageous)
