Job summary

Barto Gold Mining in Western Australia is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. You will manage supplier invoices, reconcile statements, and support month-end processes in a fast-paced mining environment.

The role requires SAP and Excel proficiency, meticulous attention to detail, strong time management, and teamwork. You will liaise with internal departments and suppliers, ensure GST compliance, and uphold our filing and audit readiness.

Barto Gold Mining is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The Southern Cross Gold Operations (SXO) is a producing gold asset situated in Western Australia, located 375km east of Perth, Western Australia, 235km west of Kalgoorlie and 32km south of the town of Southern Cross. The Southern Cross operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, two active Underground mines, one active Open Pit with the annual production of 80k oz. The 5-year plan has a production target of over 500,000 ounces.

We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Accounts Payable Officer to join our finance team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced environment and takes pride in accuracy, organisation, and meeting deadlines.

Key Responsibilities

• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner
• Reconcile supplier statements and resolve invoice discrepancies
• Prepare and process weekly and monthly payment runs
• Upload payment to online banking platforms
• Maintain accurate accounts payable records and filing systems
• Liaise with internal departments and external suppliers
• Assist with month-end reporting and audits as required
• Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures

About You

• Proven experience in an Accounts Payable role
• Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
• Good time management skills and ability to meet deadlines
• Proficiency in accounting systems and Microsoft Excel
• Strong communication and stakeholder management skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• SAP knowledge is a must
• Understanding of Accounting Fundamentals:Knows debits/credits, the procure-to-pay cycle, GL coding, accruals, and the impact of AP on financial statements.
• Understand relevant tax rules (GST)
