Job summary

AngloGold Ashanti Australia Limited at Tropicana Gold Mine is seeking an Accounts Assistant to provide site-wide accounts support, including processing purchase requisitions, service entries and end-of-month activities. Reporting to the Mine Accountant, you will help with general ledger task, accruals and cost reporting.

The role operates on an 8/6 roster with flights from Perth and Kalgoorlie, and flexible working arrangements may be considered.

Qualifications

• Solid understanding of basic accounting practices.
• Experience with SAP requisitioning, service entries and purchase order analysis.
• Proficiency in Excel and Word.
• Strong English communication skills (verbal & written).
• Attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to collaborate across departments to meet business goals.
• Mine site experience is beneficial but not essential.
• Experience dealing with audits and audit preparation.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
• Unrestricted work rights in Australia and a valid C-Class license.

Responsibilities

• Provide site-wide purchase requisition and service entry support to operational personnel.
• Monitor invoices and liaise with managers regarding payment approvals and accounts payable matters.
• Prepare accruals for services received but not yet invoiced.
• Assist with month-end tasks and journal entries.
• Complete general ledger account reconciliations.
• Provide monthly cost reports to operational personnel.
• Coordinate the timely completion of weekly and monthly reports.
• Maintain SOX control files and ensure compliance with management systems and processes.
• Undertake ad hoc tasks as directed.
• Coordinate and support the gold shipments.
• Monitor and maintain site wide fuel dispensing systems.

This role is offered on an 8/6 roster, with direct flights to site from Perth and/or Kalgoorlie. Flexible working arrangements will also be considered for this position.

• Previous experience dealing with audits and audit preparation.


• Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.


• Unrestricted work rights in Australia.
