Job summary

Barto Gold in Western Australia is seeking a Mechanical Supervisor-level candidate to support the optimization of fixed plant performance, safety and availability at the Southern Cross Processing Plant. You will lead a small trades team and operate on an 8/6 roster, with duties including preventative maintenance and responding to breakdowns.

Qualifications

• Minimum two years of mechanical experience in processing fixed plant maintenance, preferably gold.
• Minimum of five years post-apprentice mechanical work experience.
• Three years of mine site fixed plant mechanical experience.
• Current High Risk Work License including CN (Slewing Crane desirable).
• Experience with pumps, ball mills, centrifugal concentrators, crushers and conveyors.

Responsibilities

Barto Gold is an Australian Gold explorer, developer, and producer who has been operating since 2009 and is focused on gold exploration and production in Western Australia. The operation consists of a 1.8Mtpa processing plant, three active underground mines, one active open pits. This is an exciting time to join the company as we pave the way for future growth.

About the role:

Reporting to the Mechanical Supervisor you will be responsible for directly assisting the Mechanical Supervisor in the optimisation of the performance, availability, and safety of fixed plant by performing preventative maintenance and break downs associated with the mechanical maintenance of the Southern Cross Operations’ Processing Plant and its surrounding work sites, in a safe and efficient manner as well as leading a small team of trades in the absence of the Mechanical Supervisor. This will be a permanent role on an 8/6 roster. BIBO from Perth.

About you:

• Have strong leadership qualities
• Have a strong safety awareness.
• Have a minimum of two years of mechanical experience in Processing fixed plant maintenance – preferably gold.
• Be self-motivated, well organised, and able to manage own work to achieve agreed outcomes.
• Have a strong focus on delivery and a thorough understanding of sense of urgency requirements.
• Have strong attention to detail.
• Have strong problem-solving skills and ability to use initiative.
• Can work autonomously and as part of a team.
• Able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Minimum of 3 years of mine site fixed plant mechanical experience
• 2 years of experience working in processing plants
• Minimum of 5 years post-apprentice mechanical work experience
• Previous experience with Pumps, Ball Mills, Centrifugal Concentrators, Crushers and Conveyors
• Experience with processing plant preventative maintenance programs and systems
• Working at Heights Ticket (less than 3yrs old)
• Confined Spaces Entry Ticket (less than 3yrs old)
• Current High Risk Work License consisting of
