Job summary

Matthews Australasia Pty Ltd. is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to own the full AP function and support month‑end reporting in a collaborative finance team.

You will manage end-to-end AP, process invoices and vendor payments, resolve discrepancies, and maintain vendor data while liaising with internal stakeholders. The role also includes supporting month‑end close, adhering to controls, and providing backup to AR during peak periods.

Qualifications

• An accounting qualification or relevant finance-related qualification.
• Minimum 3-5 years of experience within an Accounts Payable or broader finance function.
• Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and accounting principles.
• Experience working with ERP systems and Microsoft Office applications.
• Excellent attention to detail and a high level of accuracy.
• Experience in taking ownership of the entire accounts payable function.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process vendor payments.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up outstanding items.
• Maintain vendor master data, including validation of vendor information and bank detail changes.
• Support month-end close activities and complete assigned tasks in line with reporting deadlines.
• Apply company policies, internal controls and delegated authorities across invoice and payment processing.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding purchase requisitions, purchase orders and supplier management.
• Provide backup support to accounts receivable and financial accountant during peak periods and leave coverage.
