Job summary

Matthews Australasia Pty Ltd in Victoria, Australia is seeking an experienced Accounts Payable professional to own the full AP function. You will process invoices, manage vendor payments, and resolve discrepancies while supporting month-end close and internal controls.

The role offers hybrid working arrangements and the chance to work with ERP systems and MS Office within a collaborative finance team.

Qualifications

• 3-5 years of experience within an Accounts Payable or broader finance function.
• Accounting qualification or relevant finance-related qualification.
• Experience with ERP systems and Microsoft Office.

Responsibilities

• Manage the end-to-end accounts payable process.
• Process supplier invoices accurately and in a timely manner.
• Prepare and process vendor payments.
• Investigate and resolve invoice discrepancies and vendor queries.
• Reconcile supplier statements and follow up outstanding items.
• Maintain vendor master data, including validation of vendor information and bank detail changes.
• Support month-end close activities and complete assigned tasks in line with reporting deadlines.
• Apply company policies, internal controls and delegated authorities across invoice and payment processing.
• Liaise with internal stakeholders regarding purchase requisitions, purchase orders and supplier management.
• Provide backup support to accounts receivable and financial accountant during peak periods and leave coverage.

About the role

• Experience in taking ownership of the entire accounts payable function
