Job summary

Parklife Metro JV, employed by Webuild, is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team based in Sydney CBD on a 6-month contract with potential extension.

You will prepare accounts, manage financial information, and support the Project's finance functions under the guidance of the Senior Accountant & Accounting Manager.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field is required.
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills are essential.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts and manage financial information for the Project.
• Assist Accounts Payable and ensure proper authorisations.
• Prepare accurate and timely monthly financial accounts.
• Perform variance analysis on budget-to-actual reporting/GL and Projects.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and manage Fixed Asset records.
• Support refinement of reporting frameworks and MIS integration.
• Assist in improving internal controls and procedures.
• Monitor record-keeping and compliance requirements.
• Liaise with external auditors as necessary.
• Provide financial support to internal stakeholders.
• Conduct job costing analysis.

The Opportunity:

Employed byWebuild, Parklife Metro is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team based in Sydney CBD on a 6-month contract (with the possibility of extension).

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing accounts and managing financial information, as well as assisting in the management of the finance functions to support the Project as directed by the Senior Accountant & Accounting Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable functions and reporting
• Assist the Accounts Payable function andauthorisations
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial accounts
• Assist in the performance of variance analysis on budget-to-actual reporting/GL and Projects
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Fixed Asset management
• Assist in the refinement of management information systems and integrate/improve reporting frameworks
• Assist in the improvement of internal controls and procedures
• Monitoring of record-keeping and compliance requirements
• Assist in the liaison with external auditors where necessary
• Provide financial support to internal stakeholders
• Job costing analysis

Criteria:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role preferably within the construction industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
