Job summary

Parklife Metro JV, employed by Webuild, is seeking an Accountant to join the Finance team based in Sydney CBD on a 6-month contract with possible extension. You will prepare accounts, manage financial information, and support the project’s finance functions under supervision of Senior Accountant and Accounting Manager.

Responsibilities include AR/AP, monthly accounts, variance analysis, GL reconciliations, fixed assets, and improving reporting frameworks.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar.
• Experience with SAP or other ERP systems.
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills.
• Excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• High attention to detail and accuracy.

Responsibilities

• Prepare accounts and manage financial information for the project.
• Assist in management of finance functions to support the project.
• Accounts receivable and accounts payable duties.
• Variance analysis on budget-to-actual reporting/GL and projects.
• Reconcile general ledger, manage fixed assets.
• Improve reporting frameworks and internal controls.
• Liaise with external auditors as necessary.
• Provide financial support to internal stakeholders.
• Perform job costing analysis and general accounting tasks.

The Opportunity:

Employed by Webuild, Parklife Metro is seeking an Accountant to join our Finance team based in Sydney CBD on a 6-month contract (with the possibility of extension).

As an Accountant, you will be responsible for preparing accounts and managing financial information, as well as assisting in the management of the finance functions to support the Project as directed by the Senior Accountant & Accounting Manager.

Duties & Responsibilities:

• Accounts Receivable functions and reporting
• Assist the Accounts Payable function and authorisations
• Assist in the preparation of accurate and timely monthly financial accounts
• Assist in the performance of variance analysis on budget-to-actual reporting/GL and Projects
• Reconciliation of general ledger accounts
• Fixed Asset management
• Assist in the refinement of management information systems and integrate/improve reporting frameworks
• Assist in the improvement of internal controls and procedures
• Monitoring of record-keeping and compliance requirements
• Assist in the liaison with external auditors where necessary
• Provide financial support to internal stakeholders
• Job costing analysis
• Assist in general accounting functions Assist in maintaining internal audit and controls

Criteria:

• Previous experience in an Accounts Payable role preferably within the construction industry
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or similar
• Experience using SAP or other ERP systems
• Strong organisational and multitasking skills
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills
• High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (especially Excel and Outlook)
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
