Job description

Account Executive – Construction Technology
The Opportunity

An innovative technology business is helping the construction industry improve the way materials, transport and site operations are managed. Its software gives contractors and supply partners greater visibility across deliveries, helping reduce delays, improve workforce efficiency and keep projects moving.

As Account Executive, you’ll take ownership of the end-to-end sales process, developing new business relationships and demonstrating how technology can solve real operational challenges across the construction and related industries.

Key Responsibilities
  • Identify, develop and secure new business opportunities across the construction, building materials and associated sectors.
  • Manage the full sales cycle, from prospecting and initial engagement through discovery, demonstrations, commercial negotiations and contract execution.
  • Understand customer challenges and build compelling business cases around operational efficiency, delivery performance and cost reduction.
  • Convert qualified opportunities into paid engagements and long-term customer relationships.
  • Negotiate commercial agreements that deliver sustainable revenue growth and strong business outcomes.
  • Identify opportunities to grow existing accounts through additional product capabilities and broader adoption.
  • Work closely with customer-facing and technical teams to support successful implementation, engagement and retention.
  • Maintain a healthy sales pipeline through targeted outreach, relationship building and consistent follow-up.
  • Develop relationships with senior stakeholders across operations, procurement, logistics and project delivery.
What Success Looks Like
  • Consistently achieving new-business and recurring revenue targets.
  • Building a strong pipeline of qualified opportunities within the target market.
  • Converting demonstrations and initial customer engagements into ongoing commercial agreements.
  • Developing long-term client relationships and identifying opportunities for account expansion.
  • Ensuring customers understand the value of the solution and achieve meaningful operational improvements.
  • Collaborating with internal teams to create a smooth transition from sale to implementation.
About the Business

You’ll join a growing, venture-backed technology company with an established product and an expanding customer base. The business operates in a practical, fast-moving industry where technology can make a measurable difference to productivity, coordination and project delivery.

You’ll work closely with senior leadership, commercial colleagues and product specialists, with the opportunity to contribute customer insights that influence product development and the wider sales strategy.

The role offers access to modern sales tools, technical support throughout the sales process and opportunities to attend industry events and meet customers in the field. Some travel to customer sites will be required.

The team is based in Sydney, with flexibility around working arrangements.

About You

You’ll bring a proven track record in business development and closing complex B2B technology sales, ideally selling SaaS solutions into construction, logistics, supply chain or other operationally focused industries.

You’ll also have:

  • At least three years of experience managing and closing technology sales opportunities.
  • A history of achieving or exceeding sales targets.
  • Strong consultative selling skills and the ability to uncover customer challenges through structured discovery.
  • Confidence engaging multiple stakeholders and navigating complex purchasing decisions.
  • Experience demonstrating commercial value, building ROI-based business cases and negotiating contracts.
  • The ability to convert initial customer engagements into longer-term subscription relationships.
  • A proactive, commercially minded approach to prospecting, pipeline development and account management.
  • Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical teams.
Why Consider This Role?
  • Equity potential: The opportunity to share in the growth of an emerging technology business, subject to the package offered.
  • Commercial influence: Direct exposure to senior decision-makers and the opportunity to help shape sales strategy.
  • Product impact: Work closely with technical teams to bring customer feedback into future product improvements.
  • Growing market: Join a business addressing persistent challenges across construction operations and material delivery.
  • Variety: Balance strategic selling, customer engagement, commercial negotiations and occasional site visits.
  • Flexibility: Sydney-based working arrangements with a degree of hybrid flexibility.
