Job summary

Alpha Car Hire is seeking a proactive Second-in-Charge (2IC) at the Eagle Farm branch to support the Branch Manager, coordinate a busy vehicle fleet and mentor staff to deliver outstanding service daily.

This on-the-floor leadership role requires flexibility across a seven-day roster, proven supervisory experience in fleet management or logistics, sharp organisational skills, and the confidence to make rapid operational decisions in a fast-paced car hire environment.

Qualifications

• Availability to work seven days a week due to branch operations.
• Experience in fleet management, transport, logistics or car hire.
• Proven leadership or supervisory experience.
• Strong organisational skills and ability to juggle priorities.
• Excellent customer service and relationship-building skills.
• Current unrestricted driver's licence.

Responsibilities

• Support the Branch Manager with daily operations and critical decision-making.
• Oversee the branch in the Branch Manager’s absence.
• Coordinate vehicle fleet to ensure maintenance, compliance and availability.
• Manage vehicle scheduling, allocations and returns.
• Lead and mentor branch staff to hit service and performance targets.
• Build strong customer relationships through professional, timely service.
• Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and branch performance.
• Handle branch reporting, compliance and administration.
