Job summary

Christou Homes Pty Ltd in Richmond, NSW is seeking a 1st, 2nd or 3rd year Apprentice Carpenter to join our residential construction team. You will learn from experienced carpenters, assist across timber framing, fix-out, cladding, decks and finishing works on projects in Sydney and surrounds.

You must have or be ready to obtain a White Card and a valid Australian driver’s licence, bring a reliable vehicle, and commit to safe, quality work as part of our small, professional team.

Qualifications

• Current White Card and driver’s licence required.
• Ready to commence or already in 2nd/3rd year of carpentry apprenticeship.
• Own reliable vehicle and transport to various project sites.
• Commit to safety and teamwork on site.

Responsibilities

• Assist with residential carpentry including timber framing, fix-out and finishing.
• Read and understand plans and drawings.
• Prepare sites and keep tools and materials organised.
• Work safely and maintain a clean, professional site.

You will work alongside experienced carpenters, leading hand, site supervisor and project management team across a variety of residential projects. This is a great opportunity for an apprentice who wants to build their skills properly, work alongside experienced tradespeople and gain exposure to a broad range of carpentry and residential construction.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting with and learning all aspects of residential carpentry, including timber framing, fix-out and finishing carpentry, external cladding, decks and external works, doors, windows and hardware
• General carpentry and construction duties
• Reading and understanding plans
• Site preparation and organisation
• Working safely and maintaining clean, professional sites

About you

• Ready to commence your first year apprenticeship OR currently undertaking a carpentry apprenticeship and in your 2nd or 3rd year
• Hold a current Australian driver's licence
• Have your own reliable vehicle
• Hold a current White Card
• Willing and able to travel to projects throughout Sydney and surrounding areas
• Reliable and punctual
• Good work ethic and positive attitude
• Willing to learn and take direction
• Take pride in the quality of your work
• Able to work well as part of a team, culture is important to us!
• Understand the importance of safety on site
• Respectful when dealing with clients, trades and other team members
• Own and maintain a basic set of hand tools required for carpentry work
