Job summary

Kirkham Building & Construction P/L in Camden, NSW, is seeking enthusiastic individuals to join as Carpenter Apprentices on a full-time basis. You will gain a recognised carpentry qualification while working under experienced tradespeople on residential and commercial projects.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Kirkham Building & Construction P/L is seeking enthusiastic and dedicated individuals to join our team as Carpenter Apprentices on a full-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity to launch your career in the building trades with a respected local construction company based in Camden, NSW. As a Carpenter Apprentice, you will work towards gaining a recognised qualification whilst developing practical skills and industry knowledge under the guidance of experienced tradespeople.

Key responsibilities

• Assisting qualified carpenters in all aspects of carpentry work on residential and commercial projects
• Learning and practising carpentry techniques including framing, joinery, installation and finishing work
• Measuring, marking and cutting timber and other materials to specification
• Preparing work areas, ensuring tools and equipment are maintained and used safely
• Following health and safety procedures and site regulations at all times
• Completing apprenticeship training modules and attending mandatory off-the-job training courses
• Supporting the team in maintaining quality standards and project timelines
• Developing practical problem-solving skills and attention to detail on various construction tasks

What we're looking for

• A genuine interest in pursuing a career in carpentry and the building trades
• School leaver or equivalent qualification (Year 10 or above preferred)
• Strong work ethic, reliability and commitment to completing a multi-year apprenticeship
• Ability to work as part of a team and take direction from experienced tradespeople
• Good communication skills and willingness to learn
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual labour in various weather conditions
• A current or willingness to obtain a White Card (Construction Induction Certificate)
