Job summary

Bygge Group in Melbourne is seeking an experienced Qualified Carpenter to join our small, close-knit team. You’ll work with our leading hand and trade assistant across a varied mix of projects, taking ownership of jobs and helping grow our residential new-build division.

This role requires strong reading of plans and specifications, high workmanship standards and the ability to coordinate trades and manage site activities. A Construction White Card and own vehicle are essential.

We’re a small, fully licensed domestic and commercial building company looking for an experienced Qualified Carpenter to become a key member of our tight-knit team.

This is an important role within our business. You’ll work alongside our leading hand and trade assistant across a varied mix of projects throughout Melbourne, with the opportunity to take ownership of jobs and help lead our growing residential new-build division.

About the role

Our projects include:

• Residential renovations, extensions and refits
• Verandahs, decking and other outdoor structures
• Sheet-metal roofing associated with outdoor structures
• Hardscaping and external construction
• Residential new builds

What we’re looking for

• Qualified carpenter with solid industry experience
• Broad, practical skills across different areas of building and construction
• Experience working on new homes, renovations and extensions
• Sheet-metal roofing experience would be advantageous
• Ability to read and work from plans and specifications
• A positive, can-do attitude and willingness to tackle varied tasks
• Strong organisational and problem-solving skills
• Confidence coordinating trades and managing site activities
• High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
• Pride in your work and a commitment to delivering quality results
