Zusammenfassung

Partner company seeks a Software Architect to lead platform architecture for a large distributed engineering organization. You will be the first dedicated Architect, guiding API design, data infrastructure, and multi-region readiness while driving AI-assisted engineering workflows.

You will mentor senior engineers, shape durable architecture practices, and collaborate with engineering leadership to align roadmaps with business growth and platform investments.

Qualifikationen

• 10+ years of software engineering experience with at least 3 years as an Architect in a large org.
• Lead through influence, guiding senior engineers without direct authority.
• Deep expertise in distributed systems, high-throughput, low-latency backend architecture (Go/Kubernetes/AWS, event-driven, data-intensive).
• Broad understanding across client SDKs, data pipelines, and ML serving environments.
• Strong API design experience at scale, including versioning and backward compatibility.
• Excellent written and verbal communication for engineers and execs.
• Preference for asynchronous, documented decision-making with durable docs.
• Hands-on with AI coding/reasoning tools in design, prototyping, review, and workflows.
• Design codebases, docs, service boundaries, and APIs for safe AI interaction.
• Pragmatic architecture balancing long-term strategy with delivery needs.

Aufgaben

• Maintain a comprehensive view of platform architecture, data flows and dependencies.
• Identify systemic scalability, reliability, performance, and cost risks and drive improvements.
• Establish API design direction and service patterns across REST APIs, SDKs, and MCP surfaces.
• Shape roadmaps for cell-based architecture, multi-region readiness, rate limiting, and feature flag infra.
• Act as a full-time technical leader, setting priorities and documenting decisions.
• Mentor Staff engineers in system design, technical writing, and architectural thinking.
• Strengthen RFCs and cross-team design reviews; keep them lightweight and valuable.
• Extend engineering standards for observability, security-by-design, and API versioning.
• Translate business growth and AI workflows into multi-quarter technical strategy.
• Advise on build-versus-buy and platform investments; lead AI adoption in engineering.
• Stay hands-on with prototypes, reference implementations, and production issue investigation.
