Placements24 is seeking an Employee Relations Officer to manage grievances, investigations, and disciplinary processes in a fully remote role across South Africa. You will advise management on HR policies, ensure compliance with LRA/BCEA/EEA, and foster a fair workplace.

The ideal candidate has a strong ER background, excellent mediation skills, and the ability to work autonomously in a remote setting while supporting policy development and staff training.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, law, or related field.
• Minimum 4 years in HR with a focus on employee relations.
• In-depth knowledge of SA labor laws (LRA, BCEA, EEA).
• Experience conducting investigations and managing disciplinary processes.
• Strong communication and negotiation abilities.
• Ability to work remotely and autonomously.

Responsibilities

• Handle grievances, disputes, and disciplinary issues.
• Investigate employee complaints and recommend actions.
• Advise on HR policies and SA labor law.
• Facilitate mediation and conflict resolution.
• Develop strategies for a positive work environment.
• Ensure LRA and related compliance.
• Review and update HR policies and handbooks.
• Train managers and staff on ER best practices.
• Maintain confidential ER records.
