Rhenus Logistics is seeking an experienced Ocean Freight professional in Austria to manage quotations, pricing, and end-to-end shipment operations. The role collaborates with Sales, Product and Operations to ensure competitive, profitable solutions.

The ideal candidate has 5+ years in ocean freight, with strong negotiation, analytics and language skills in German and English. This role offers growth and exposure to regional logistics challenges.

Responsabilidades

• Prepare competitive quotations for FCL and LCL shipments, ensuring pricing viability.
• Support spot quotations, tenders and key account opportunities with Sales.
• Monitor rates, charges, market conditions and carrier availability for competitiveness.
• Coordinate shipments end-to-end with lines, carriers, and service providers.
• Ensure accurate documentation, data and timely invoicing.
• Collaborate with stakeholders to drive improvements and transitions to execution.

What You Can Expect

• Prepare competitive quotations for FCL and LCL shipments, ensuring accurate pricing and commercially viable solutions.
• Work closely with Sales to support spot quotations, tenders and key account opportunities.
• Monitor freight rates, local charges, market conditions and carrier availability to maintain competitive pricing.
• Support local rate negotiations and collaborate with the Cluster Product Manager on procurement and carrier strategies.

Shipment Management & Operations

• Manage Ocean Freight shipments end-to-end, from booking confirmation to final delivery and file closure.
• Coordinate with shipping lines, carriers, trucking and rail providers, terminals and customs partners.
• Ensure accurate shipment documentation, operational data and timely invoicing.
• Proactively monitor shipments, resolve operational issues and keep customers informed throughout the process.
• Support customer claims and ensure effective resolution of service-related issues.

Profitability & Performance

• Monitor shipment costs, margins and profitability, identifying opportunities for improvement.
• Track quotation success rates, conversion ratios and other key performance indicators.
• Analyse pricing trends and operational performance to support more competitive and profitable solutions.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes, service quality and customer satisfaction.

Customer & Stakeholder Collaboration

• Build strong working relationships with customers, carriers and local service providers.
• Collaborate with Sales, Product and Operations teams to ensure a smooth transition from quotation to shipment execution.
• Share market insights and recommendations to support business development and continuous improvement.

What You Bring:

• At least 5 years of experience in Ocean Freight forwarding, ideally combining pricing, operations or product management responsibilities.
• Strong knowledge of FCL and LCL shipments, carrier structures, freight rates and local logistics costs.
• Experience preparing quotations, coordinating shipments and working with shipping lines and transport providers.
• A commercial mindset with a strong focus on profitability, service quality and customer satisfaction.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving and negotiation skills.
• Ability to work independently, prioritize effectively and manage multiple requests in a dynamic environment.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in both German (C1 or native) and English is required, with strong written and verbal communication skills in both languages.
