Job summary
Hire Hangar, Inc. seeks an experienced Technical SEO Lead to manage technical SEO across a portfolio of higher-education client accounts.
The role includes building Claude-based tools and workflows to automate audits, reporting, QA, and content production, while guiding developers to fix issues for improved rankings. You will work remotely for a U.S.-based higher education marketing agency, supporting the SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO in delivering measurable growth across enrollments
Qualifications
- 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
- Hands-on with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs/Semrush
- Strong WordPress knowledge: themes, plugins, redirects, and schema
Responsibilities
- Lead technical SEO across client accounts
- Run technical audits: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects, broken links
- Write dev-ready specs and ensure fixes deploy
- Build Claude-based tools and workflows for audits, reporting, QA
- Monitor Search Console and GA4 for drops, errors, indexing issues
- Own AI search readiness: crawler access, structured data, entity optimization
- Design scalable SEO systems and content production workflows
- Document systems and train the team, measure time savings and results
