Job summary

Connections Education Llc is seeking a Technical SEO Lead for fully remote work with a U.S.-based higher education marketing agency. You will be the technical SEO expert across a portfolio of partner accounts, improving visibility in traditional search, answer engines, and AI-driven search, while collaborating with the SEO Lead and Executive Director of SEO.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in SEO, with at least 3 focused on technical SEO
• Hands-on experience with Google Search Console, GA4, Screaming Frog, and Ahrefs or Semrush
• Strong working knowledge of WordPress: themes, plugins, redirects, and schema
• Advanced, hands-on experience with Claude, including building agents and AI-assisted workflows
• Clear written communication for developer specs and client recommendations
• Ability to own outcomes across many accounts independently

Responsibilities

• Lead technical SEO across client accounts
• Run technical audits: crawlability, indexation, site architecture, internal linking, Core Web Vitals, structured data, redirects
• Prioritize issues by impact and effort
• Write dev-ready specs and follow through to fixes
• Handle light WordPress implementation: titles, meta descriptions, plugin redirects, schema
• Monitor Search Console and GA4 for drops, errors, indexing problems
• Own AI readiness for search (AEO/GEO) and data structures
• Build scalable systems for SEO services and AI workflows
• Document systems and train the team, measure time saved and results
• Support team and client success as go-to technical resource
• Join client calls for deep technical topics
• Evaluate emerging search technologies and tools
