Job summary

General Motors South America is seeking a skilled accounting professional to oversee complex memos under US GAAP and IFRS, and to coordinate with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, and Legal. The role supports quarterly and annual SEC disclosures and drives policy modernization.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor’s in Accounting, 2+ years of experience, and strong analytical and communication skills, with preference for IFRS, SAP, and data analytics experience. Hybrid work model in Argentina.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Intermediate English proficiency or higher.
• Professional experience and knowledge in accounting.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with data automation and analytics tools (Power Query, Power BI, KNIME) preferred.
• Big Four experience preferred.
• Ability to work independently with strong analytical skills and judgment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of technical accounting memos under US GAAP and IFRS.
• Partner with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and Legal to analyze transactions and determine accounting treatment.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial reporting for SEC disclosures (Form 10-Q/10-K).
• Drive process modernization with regional Controllership teams and ensure policy compliance.
• Communicate accounting analyses to regional leaders and stakeholders.
• Contribute to training for regional Controllership on new accounting policies.
