Job summary

General Motors Company is seeking an accounting professional to oversee the preparation and review of technical memos for complex transactions in alignment with US GAAP and IFRS. You will partner with Controllership, Finance and corporate functions to ensure accurate financial reporting and compliance.

The role emphasizes process modernization, policy updates, and clear communication of technical accounting analyses to regional leaders. Hybrid work arrangement is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting.
• At least two years of relevant professional experience.
• Intermediate English proficiency or higher.
• Knowledge of IFRS.
• Experience with SAP.
• Experience with data automation and analytics tools (Power Query, Power BI, KNIME, Google Workspace).
• Big Four experience preferred.
• Strong communication and collaboration with cross-functional teams.

Responsibilities

• Oversee preparation and review of technical accounting memos for complex transactions.
• Partner with Controllership, FP&A, Tax, Treasury and other partners on accounting treatment.
• Prepare and review quarterly and annual financial reporting for SEC disclosures.
• Drive process modernization with regional Controllership teams.
• Support updates to global accounting policies and Corporate Circular Letters.
• Communicate technical accounting analysis to regional leaders and stakeholders.
• Contribute to training on new or changed accounting policies.
