Job summary

Gbs Group is seeking an experienced Level 2 Tax & Accounting Support Specialist (CPA/EA preferred) to provide specialized US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll support remotely from Argentina. The role demands genuine technical accounting judgment and the ability to investigate and resolve complex issues beyond scripted responses.

You will handle escalated inquiries, review reconciliations, assist with payroll setups, and communicate findings clearly via Zendesk, email, and phone

Qualifications

• Professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to US accounting and taxation.
• Strong knowledge of bookkeeping, tax return reviews, reconciliations, payroll, and financial reporting.
• Experience handling complex tax and accounting inquiries and customer-facing financial support.

Responsibilities

• Provide Level 2 support for complex US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax tickets.
• Review and troubleshoot bookkeeping discrepancies and reconciliations.
• Explain tax and accounting topics to nontechnical customers.
• Support payroll questions, setup, and processing issues.
• Document resolutions and maintain accurate customer records.
• Learn and adapt to proprietary platforms and AI-assisted workflows.
• Coordinate with internal specialists when needed.
