Job summary

Gbs Group is seeking an experienced accounting professional to provide Level 2 support for complex US accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries. The role demands genuine technical accounting judgment, strong tax expertise, and the ability to independently investigate and resolve issues.

Ideal candidates have CPA/EA preferred qualifications, excellent English communication, and experience with QuickBooks, Excel, and Zendesk.

Qualifications

• Demonstrated professional accounting experience, ideally with exposure to US accounting and taxation.
• Strong working knowledge of bookkeeping, tax return review, and payroll.
• Excellent written and verbal English communication.
• Analytical, troubleshooting, and documentation skills; independent problem solving.
• Ability to explain complex topics to nontechnical customers.
• Comfortable in a fast-paced, tech-driven environment with evolving workflows.

Responsibilities

• Provide specialized Level 2 support for complex US customer accounting, tax, bookkeeping, and payroll inquiries.
• Investigate and resolve escalated accounting and tax support tickets.
• Review and troubleshoot bookkeeping discrepancies, reconciliations, and transactions.
• Assist customers with tax-related inquiries, notices, and filing status questions.
• Support payroll questions, setup, processing issues, and troubleshooting.
• Communicate findings through Zendesk, email-style responses, and scheduled phone support.
• Independently investigate issues, identify root causes, and coordinate with internal specialists.
• Document resolutions and maintain accurate customer records.
• Identify recurring issues and opportunities to improve workflows and knowledge resources.
• Learn new internal systems and AI-assisted workflows.
