Job summary

Lateralgroup is seeking a Senior Data Engineer for a remote, marketing-focused role. You will own data ingestion from paid media and CRM into Adverity and BigQuery, build modular dbt/Dataform pipelines, and deliver Looker Studio dashboards that drive client insights.

You will collaborate with the Data and Analytics team to scale automated reporting for education and nonprofit clients, ensure data quality, and implement CI/CD and data segregation across multi-client environments.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of hands-on data engineering experience, ideally in marketing or agency environments.
• Strong experience configuring datastreams, transformations, and destinations in Adverity or comparable ETL platforms.
• Intermediate to advanced SQL with BigQuery experience in transformation, partitioning, and modeling.
• Expertise with dbt or Dataform in modular, version-controlled SQL pipelines.
• Python proficiency for custom API connections and pipeline automation.
• Experience with CRM data flows and integrations (Slate, Salesforce, HubSpot).
• Understanding of marketing metrics (ROAS, CPA, CAC) and paid platform schemas.

Responsibilities

• Own data ingestion & pipeline architecture—connect and maintain API pipelines from paid media platforms into Adverity and build custom Python connectors.
• Own CRM integration—maintain reliable CRM data connections (Slate, Salesforce, HubSpot) into the warehouse.
• Own the data warehouse—design schemas in BigQuery, manage partitioning and storage strategies.
• Own transformation & mapping—build SQL schemas for multi-source data in dbt/Dataform pipelines.
• Own CI/CD & data segregation—maintain GitHub Actions and testing for multi-client environments.
• Enable the reporting layer—create clean data views for Looker Studio dashboards and Google Sheets reports.
