AgileEngine, LLC. in Buenos Aires is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven integration platform. You will build, deploy, monitor, and harden the infrastructure and ensure end-to-end reliability.

The role requires 4+ years of production Kafka experience, strong Linux scripting (Python), CI/CD ownership, containers, and IaC. Flexible remote/office options are available with a global team support.

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on production Kafka experience (4+ years).
• Enterprise Linux engineering and automation (shell, Python).
• CI/CD ownership, e.g., Jenkins pipelines, with release management.
• Containers and orchestration (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management practices.
• Observability: logging, metrics, alerting, SLOs.
• GenAI-assisted development in daily workflows.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, partitioning, retention, and broker config.
• Ensure platform resilience when upstream services degrade or fail.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics and replay tooling.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards, tracing.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit needs.
• Integrate vendor-native streaming and change-data-capture tools.
• Own build/release pipelines: Jenkins, artifacts, and image distribution.
• Operate containerised deployments and runtime estate.
• Automate environment provisioning and maintain single source of truth.
• Collaborate with Python developers on deployability and production support.
