Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. is hiring an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) in Córdoba to own and operate the Kafka estate behind a data integration platform. You will design topics, manage partitions, replication, and retention, and ensure reliable delivery with proper monitoring and alerting.

You will also lead CI/CD pipelines, apply IaC, automate provisioning, and collaborate with Python developers to optimize performance and cost while supporting a globally distributed team.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Kafka experience with design, deployment and tuning.
• Understanding of at-least-once vs exactly-once semantics, idempotency and replay handling.
• Strong Linux engineering and Python scripting for automation.
• Experience owning CI/CD pipelines (Jenkins) and artifact management.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: topic naming, partitioning, replication, retention and compaction policies.
• Ensure platform resilience when upstream services are degraded and handle traffic spikes without data loss.
• Implement delivery guarantees: at-least-once, exactly-once where needed, dead-letter handling and replay tooling.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards, SLOs, alerts.
• Plan capacity and retention for regulatory audit needs and scale with adoption.
• Collaborate with Python developers on performance and cost in deployment.
• Operate runtime estate: containerized deployments and OS modernization.
• Automate provisioning and maintain single source of truth for configs.
