AgileEngine Rosario, Argentina is seeking an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind a large-scale event-driven integration platform. You will manage build, deployment, monitoring infrastructure, and ensure resilience in a globally distributed environment.

The role emphasizes hands-on production Kafka, Linux engineering, Python scripting, and CI/CD ownership, with container orchestration and IaC practices at the core.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Kafka experience.
• Understanding of at-least-once vs exactly-once semantics.
• Strong Linux engineering and Python scripting.
• CI/CD ownership and release management experience.
• Experience with Docker/Podman and container orchestration.
• Infrastructure-as-code and config management experience.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, naming, partitioning, replication, retention and compaction policies.
• Maintain platform resilience and reliability during upstream service degradation.
• Implement at-least-once/exactly-once semantics and idempotent producers.
• Develop streaming observability: lag, throughput, end-to-end tracing, dashboards and SLOs.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit retention.
• Integrate vendor-native streaming and CDC mechanisms as platforms mature.
• Own the build and release pipeline: Jenkins pipelines, signed containers, docs.
• Operate runtime estate: container deployments and OS modernization.
• Automate environment provisioning and maintain single source of truth for assets.
• Collaborate with Python developers on deployability, performance and cost.
