AgileEngine, LLC. in Mar del Plata, Argentina seeks an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind an event-driven integration platform. You will build, deploy, and monitor the infrastructure, ensuring resilience and auditability, and collaborate with global teams.

This role emphasizes strong automation, observability, and AI-assisted development. Responsibilities include managing topic design, replication, and retention; implementing at-least-once/ exactly-once

Qualifications

• Deep, hands-on production Kafka experience of at least 4+ years.
• Experience with event-driven delivery semantics and idempotency.
• Strong Linux engineering and automation, including Python scripting.
• CI/CD pipeline ownership, ideally Jenkins declarative pipelines.
• Containerization and orchestration with Docker/Podman and Kubernetes.
• Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management.
• Observability tooling for logs, metrics, alerts, and SLOs.
• Familiarity with AI-assisted development and coding tools.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: design, partitioning, replication, and retention policies.
• Ensure platform resilience and reliability during upstream SaaS outages.
• Implement at-least-once and exactly-once delivery semantics and dead-letter handling.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, tracing, dashboards, and alerts.
• Plan capacity, cost and retention for durable logs with audit retention.
• Integrate vendor-native streaming and data-change capture mechanisms.
• Own and evolve build/release pipelines, including Jenkins pipelines and signed artifacts.
• Operate runtime estate: containerized deployments and gateway hosts.
• Automate environment provisioning and maintain a single source of truth for configs.
• Collaborate with Python developers on deployability, performance and cost.
