Job summary

AgileEngine, LLC. in Mendoza, Argentina, seeks an Infrastructure Engineer (Kafka) to own and operate the Kafka estate behind a large event-driven integration platform.

You will build, deploy, and monitor the infrastructure, ensuring reliability and scalability across environments. You will lead topics design, retention, and broker configuration, implement at-least-once and exactly-once semantics, and partner with Python developers on cost and performance.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of production Kafka experience required.
• Strong Linux engineering with Python scripting.
• CI/CD ownership with artifact and release management experience.
• Container and orchestration expertise (Docker/Podman, Kubernetes).
• Infrastructure-as-code and configuration management experience.
• Observability tooling: logs, metrics, alerts, SLOs.
• Experience with AI-assisted development practices.

Responsibilities

• Own the Kafka estate: topic design, partitions, retention, and broker configuration.
• Ensure platform resilience and reliability during upstream outages.
• Implement delivery guarantees: at-least-once, exactly-once, idempotent producers.
• Build streaming observability: lag, throughput, dashboards, tracing.
• Plan capacity, cost, and retention for durable logs with audit requirements.
• Integrate vendor-native streaming and change-data-capture mechanisms.
• Own and evolve build/release pipelines with Jenkins and artifacts.
• Operate runtime estate: container deployments and gateway hosts.
• Automate environment provisioning and maintain single source of truth.
• Collaborate with Python developers on deployability and cost.
