Newsela Inc. is seeking a Senior Full-Stack Quality Engineer to own end-to-end quality for complex front-end applications powered by cloud-based back-end services, internal LLMs, and third-party AI tools.

You will build scalable test frameworks across UI, API, and service layers, collaborating with Product, Design, and Engineering while mentoring mid-level engineers. The role involves hands-on automation, AI tool integration, and ownership of quality from story acceptance to production health

Formación

5+ years of professional software testing within an Agile Scrum environment.
Full-spectrum testing across manual, exploratory, regression, integration, API/services, and database testing.
Solid understanding of CI/CD practices and DevOps collaboration.
Experience integrating AI tooling (e.g., Claude Code, GitHub Copilot) into daily QA workflows.
Proactive communication, participation in all Scrum ceremonies, and ability to surface risks and trends.

Responsabilidades

Build, maintain, and execute automated test frameworks and regression suites across UI, API, and service layers.
Test and validate internally built LLMs and external AI tools and services with rigorous quality standards.
Own test planning, execution, and release support from story validation to production deployment.
Collaborate with Engineering, Product Management, and Design to translate requirements into clear acceptance criteria.
Act as quality advocate, perform code reviews, and mentor mid-level QA engineers.
Establish defect tracking, triage, and observability practices using AI-assisted tooling.
