Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join our Data Platform team. This hybrid role centers on reliability, automation, and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD tooling, and operationalize data workflows with Glue, Athena, and S3. You'll own the observability stack and drive security, scalability, and developer experience across data ingestion and processing pipelines, collaborating closely

Formación

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE with at least 2 years in data engineering.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager.
• Hands-on with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle/encryption.
• Proficiency with Terraform and/or AWS CDK for IaC.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions/Jenkins/GitLab CI.
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability systems for data and platform services.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform and/or CDK).
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines with metrics, logs, and alerts.
• Develop DataOps self-service tooling and shared libraries for production pipelines.
• Manage container and compute infrastructure for data ingestion microservices.
• Design and operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion.
• Drive security best practices across the data platform (Secrets Manager, IAM, network segmentation).
• Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and security teams to deliver scalable infra.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and mentor junior engineers.
