Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. This hybrid role focuses on reliability, automation, and delivering robust data pipelines and analytics capabilities across AWS.

You will own CI/CD pipelines, IaC, and the observability stack for data infrastructure, supporting Glue, Athena, and S3, while mentoring teammates and driving best practices.

Formación

• 5+ years of professional experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or site reliability engineering, with at least 2 years of hands-on data engineering work.
• Deep expertise with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager, and CloudFormation/CDK.
• Hands-on experience with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, and S3 lifecycle and security features.
• Proficiency with Infrastructure-as-Code tools - Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience across GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI or equivalent.
• Experience with container technologies (Docker) and orchestration (ECS/EKS/Kubernetes).
• Proven ability to design observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing) for data/platform services.

Responsabilidades

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing and deployment of AWS Glue ETL jobs and Athena views.
• Build and manage AWS infrastructure using IaC (Terraform / CDK) covering S3, IAM, Glue, and network resources.
• Own the observability stack: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA and rapid incident response.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable templates for rapid production pipelines.
• Manage container and compute infrastructure (Docker, ECS/EKS, Lambda) for data ingestion services.
• Operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions) including upgrades and scaling.
• Build and maintain Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale data ingestion.
• Drive security practices: secrets, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation.
• Collaborate with engineers, scientists, and security teams to deliver scalable infra.
• Lead incident response for data-platform outages and perform post-mortems.
• Mentor junior engineers on DevOps and data engineering practices.
