Proofpoint is seeking a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to own the reliability and delivery of data pipelines and analytics capabilities. You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure (AWS-first), CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling enabling data teams to ship high-quality data products safely.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in DevOps/platform engineering or SRE, with ≥2 years data engineering.
• Deep experience with AWS core services: S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS, Secrets Manager.
• Hands-on with AWS data services: Glue, Athena, S3 lifecycle and encryption.
• Proficiency with IaC: Terraform and/or AWS CDK.
• Strong CI/CD experience: GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI.
• Containers and orchestration: Docker, ECS/EKS, Kubernetes.
• Observability: metrics, logging, tracing, alerting for data/platform services.
• Excellent communication for cross-functional collaboration.

Responsabilités

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated testing, deployment, and promotion of AWS Glue ETL jobs.
• Build and manage cloud infrastructure on AWS using IaC (Terraform and/or AWS CDK).
• Own the observability stack for data pipelines: metrics, logs, alerts to ensure SLA compliance.
• Develop and maintain the DataOps platform-self-service tooling and templates.
• Manage container and compute infrastructure (Docker, ECS/EKS, or Lambda).
• Design and operate workflow orchestration environments (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Build and maintain AWS Glue ETL jobs (PySpark) for large-scale ingestion/transformation on S3.
• Drive security across the data platform: secrets, least-privilege IAM, network segmentation.
• Collaborate with data engineers/scientists/security to translate requirements into scalable infra solutions.
• Lead incident response for data platform outages and perform post-mortems.
• Mentor junior engineers on DevOps and data engineering practices.
