Job summary

AgileEngine is seeking a Senior Data Engineer to operate and improve a Snowflake-based data platform in a regulated healthcare setting. You will own data ingestion, orchestration, and quality, while collaborating with Cloud/DevOps, Analytics, Security, and client stakeholders.

This role requires strong SQL, dbt, Python, and experience with E2E data pipelines. You will help design scalable data ingestion architectures, manage production reliability, and mentor mid-level engineers.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Data Engineering or Data Platform Engineering.
• Snowflake data-layer design, warehouse performance, access patterns, and production troubleshooting.
• Advanced SQL and dbt for transformation, testing, documentation, lineage, and controlled deployment.
• Experience with Fivetran or HVR and custom ingestion pipelines.
• Hands-on AWS data services, especially S3 and event/file-driven ingestion.
• Experience with Argo Workflows on Kubernetes or similar orchestration tools.
• Python or similar language for data engineering and automation.
• Strong data modeling, pipeline dependencies, schema evolution, backfills and data quality.

Responsibilities

• Provide senior technical ownership for the Data Platform during LatAm coverage, including escalation.
• Operate Snowflake in production and non-production with monitoring and optimization.
• Administer data access with least-privilege controls and audit-ready practices.
• Operate and improve ingestion across Fivetran, HVR, and custom pipelines.
• Design and maintain pipelines and dbt models across RAW, CURATED, CONSUMPTION layers with CI/CD.
• Support AWS S3 data-lake operations and downstream Snowflake workloads.
• Coordinate with Cloud/DevOps for Argo/Kubernetes workloads.
• Define data quality and observability standards, including freshness and schema drift checks.
• Expand monitoring and lineage with tools like dbt, Snowflake audit data, Splunk, and alerting.
• Lead major data incidents, root-cause analysis, and preventive actions.
• Mentor engineers and ensure smooth handoffs across teams.
• Participate in on-call rotation and customer-facing technical sessions.
