Job summary

Proofpoint in Córdoba, Argentina seeks a Senior DevOps and Data Engineer to join the Data Platform team. The role blends platform engineering and data infrastructure, focusing on reliable automation and scalable data pipelines.

You will build and maintain cloud infrastructure, CI/CD pipelines, and DevOps tooling to empower data teams. You will own AWS Glue, Athena, and S3 data workflows, design observability, and drive security and reliability across the data platform while mentoring junior

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in DevOps, platform engineering, or SRE.
• Hands-on data engineering experience (2+ years).
• Strong AWS core services knowledge (S3, IAM, VPC, CloudWatch, Lambda, ECS/EKS).
• Proficiency with Terraform and/or AWS CDK for IaC.
• Experience with CI/CD pipelines (GitHub Actions, Jenkins, GitLab CI).
• Experience with Docker and container orchestration (ECS, EKS, Kubernetes).
• Experience designing observability systems (metrics, logging, tracing).
• Strong communication to translate ops concerns to engineering trade-offs.

Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and maintain CI/CD pipelines for ETL jobs and data infrastructure.
• Build and manage AWS-based infrastructure using IaC tools.
• Own observability stack with metrics, logs, and alerts for data pipelines.
• Develop DataOps tooling and reusable templates for production pipelines.
• Manage container and compute infra including Docker and ECS/EKS/Lambda.
• Operate workflow orchestration (MWAA/Airflow, Step Functions).
• Develop and maintain PySpark AWS Glue ETL jobs for data ingestion.
• Enforce security best practices across the data platform (Secrets Manager, IAM).
• Collaborate with data engineers, scientists, and security teams.
• Lead on-call incident responses and post-mortems; mentor junior engineers.
